Restoring Responsibility
First Nations communities continue to navigate significant social, economic, environmental, and intergenerational challenges.
At the same time, communities carry generations of knowledge about relationships with land, family, community, leadership, and collective responsibility
Restoring Responsibility asks a different question:
“ What becomes possible when responsibility is understood not simply as obligation, but as belonging, purpose, leadership, and relationship?”
The presentation brings together community wellness and climate leadership by examining the human relationships that ultimately determine how communities care for land, one another, and future generations.
Meet the Presenter
Christopher Merasty
Christopher Merasty is an Indigenous leadership and wellness consultant whose work focuses on leadership development, men's and youth wellness, community capacity building, and culturally grounded approaches to strengthening First Nations communities.
Through New Direction Consulting, Christopher works with First Nations, organizations, leaders, professionals, and community partners to develop practical approaches that strengthen accountability, relationships, identity, leadership, and long-term community wellness.
